FAQ: Does Wet & Forget Work On All Homes?

14 July 2010 4 Comments

Different styles of homes often cannot use the same products due to the different structures of each style. Fortunately, Wet & Forget is a product that can be used on a vast number of outdoor surfaces. If you are wondering if it is safe to use on your home, here is an inquiry we received that may  help.

Q:  Can Wet & Forget be used with log homes? Will it affect the color of the stain?

A: Wet & Forget is safe to use on your log home. It is a gentle product that works with the outside elements such as rain and/or wind to remove the moss, mold, mildew, and algae stains from many outdoor surfaces. Wet & Forget has a pH of 8 which is almost neutral, so it will not affect the color of your stain.

It states that this works on all surfaces, but may take more effort on VERTICAL surfaces. I have algae problems on the North side of my house in Brooksville, FL. What extra effort will I need to employ?
    Thanks.

    Hi Fred,
Thanks for your inquiry! Wet & Forget is formulated to work with the wind and the rain. For vertical surfaces that do not come in contact with rainfall (areas under the eaves or overhangs of your house), you will need to spray down the area with water every 2 weeks. This will simulate rainfall and help the Wet & Forget clean these areas. For vertical surfaces that are exposed to the rain, there is no extra assistance required—just spray it on, let it dry and let the rain do the rest! If you have any further questions, please let us know.
    Thanks!

We have an RV with a rubber roof. It has mildew on it. Do you know if I can use Wet and Forget on the rubber roof without damaging it? What about the awning?

    Hi Lee,

Thank you for writing in! Yes, you can use Wet & Forget on the rubber roof on your RV that has mildew on it. Be sure to protect any decals on the RV from the overspray. You can also use Wet & Forget on your awning, as long as it is exposed to the outside elements (rain/wind). Let us know if you have any other questions. Thank you!
