FAQ: Is Wet & Forget safe around the pool?

Wet & Forget works on all outdoor surfaces and this holds true for your swimming pool area. You can apply Wet & Forget to pool surrounds and pool cages. It’s non-caustic, non-acidic and does not contain bleach, so it won’t harm the pH of your pool. Just keep people and pets off the surface until dry. But what happens if the surface gets wet again from the pool? Here is a recent inquiry we receive to help answer that question.

Q: We have a concrete patio around our pool. We just purchased Wet & Forget to use on the patio and have read the application instructions. My question is after we apply it and let it dry will we be able to walk barefoot on the patio when we come out of the pool with wet feet? If not how many days do we have to wait?

A: Once the Wet & Forget has dried on the surface, you can walk on it with no problems. Even if the surface becomes wet after subsequent rains, it is still safe for you as well as any pets. We recommend you keep off of the surface until it’s completely dry after the application of Wet & Forget.

Wet & Forget properly cleans moss, mold, mildew, and algae stains to the root, rather just what’s on the surface. We normally see surfaces remaining clean for a year or much longer.

      Hi Mark,
Wet & Forget is safe to use around a pool as it will not harm the water or change the pH level. Once the product has dried, it is no longer active. You are fine to continue swimming in your pool.

To clean the pool liners, you would want to drain the pool water to the stain and let dry. Apply Wet & Forget to the dry liner and allow it to fully dry. The next day fill your pool back up with water and the stain will disappear over time.

I have heavy plastic pool stairs in my pool. I clean them but algae keeps growing back inside the steps in the pool. Can I apply wet and forget after I have scrubbed them to help keep the stairs free of algae?

          Hi Marsha,
Yes, you can use Wet & Forget to clean up and keep your pool stairs clean. I would take the pool stairs out of the pool and allow them to fully dry. Once dry, apply a good heavy amount of Wet & Forget to the stairs and let them dry one more time. The next day, you’re fine to put the stairs back in the pool.
